I was gonna shoot my way out. Mix things up a little.

First off, I got the Mytic Map Pack for Halo 3 yesterday. It is worth the ten dollars. If you have a copy of Halo 3 and an active LIVE account, get it. Get it, now.

I was also able to unlock the Security Helmet after I unlocked some achievements. JUST LOOK AT THAT FISHBOWL.

HEY MAW, IT FITS ON MAH HEAD!!

But that's not why I'm posting tonight, nope. I'm here to talk about something, I should have posted a long time ago.

PROJECT LAMBDA HALO UPDATE

Yup, it's time I talked about this project I started about several months ago. I stopped working on it the second I heard about the Mythic Map Pack, mostly due to Sandbox.

Most of the maps were going to be created in Foundry. Emptied out, Foundry does have some reasonable space to work in.

Sandbox, one of the Mythic maps, kicks it up a notch by adding more space.

That is much bigger. And let's not forget the sub area, Crypt.

And the Sky Bubble. Just look at all that space.

Did I mention that this is all in the same map?

There is a ton of space here to work with and ton of scenery pieces to manipulate. Expect much of the Halo Lambda Maps to be Sandbox variants.

Lowlife is being scraped and will be built in Sandbox Crypt. Foundry was starting to give me some trouble with it's size. Some zombie spawns were being placed right in the human players line of sight. This created some easy spawn camping. I couldn't find any way to resolve this problem. Hopefully the Crypt's large size will give me some elbow room and create more reasonable zombie spawn areas.

Rest and Relaxation

Damn this has been nice. Not having to deal with work or school has been very good on me, because damn it, I needed this break. I've been playing F.E.A.R. 2 and I think I'm close to finishing the single player campaign.

This game has been quite the mind trip, You go from fire fight to fire fight, then it gets quiet. The music becomes erie, the lights flicker, your flashlight dims, and you start seeing ghosts. Yep, ghosts will pop up from time to time, they will attack you, lead you to areas, and freak you out. I walked down a hallway in an abandoned elementary school, all of a sudden every single locker door comes flying open, which made me crap my pants. The game really has its moments, and now that I'm getting closer to the main antagonist, Alma, the shit has started to fly in the mind fucking department.

On Thursday, I'm hosting my first LAN party. I'm really nervous but excited at the same time. We'll probably play Halo 3. I'll get a writeup about it on Friday, with plenty of screenshots. Maybe a video or two if I'm lucky.

I've been working on some side projects that I revived. Both are creative story ideas that I have. I'm just fleshing them out and seeing how they evolve. Had another idea, but it's not really turning out the way I want it to. We'll see how it goes in the end.

I recently got a Twitter, which you can check out at twitter.com/SpectreSigma. And now a cool video. This is an internet show called CO-OP, its created by the guys of the 1UP Show. Pretty much a show about video games, where they talk about it like any other gamer would. I've been a huge fan of the 1UP Show and CO-OP recaptures the reasons why I loved it so much. You can check out the first episode of their season in the video below and read more about them at area5.tv.

<lj-embed id="10" />

Stay tuned, I'll have some Project Lambda Halo info up soon. It's not dead yet.

ITS THE FINAL COUNTDOWN

Alright, Tomorrow is Friday and then, Spring Break, Just one more night of homework before I'm free like a bird.

Also, if you have Xbox Live, I'll be playing some Halo tomorrow night. Want in, just send a Freind Request to the gamertag, Spectre Sigma. Need to test out a gametype, but well do some other stuff too.

HEY WHATS THIS?

<lj-embed id="9" />

Ugh

I really, really don't want to go to work today.

Here's a list of the reasons why.

1. Tons of homework that I want to finish before Spring Break.

2. My car is running low on gas, I'm trying to hold up until tomorrow, when I get paid.

3. I hate 97% of the high school kids that work there.

4. I don't want to hear the seniors pout and whine about how I will never amount to anything and that my generation is fucked.

5. Too many hardcore republicans. Not that I'm democratic (I'm neutral) but still I don't want to hear complaints and political emo.

6. I'm sick, but I can't afford to miss a day of work.

About 10 more minutes than I'm back in the grind for another seven hours. Then again, it could be worse.

I could be unemployed.

I did a Speed Test to see how they compared to each other.

Here is how the old router did.

Now here is the new one.

I'm happy now.

HE'S 2 KEWL FUR SKOOL

Alright, another post! Now if I can only get this to become a daily task...

When you attend college, you expect to enter an environment where people take their studies somewhat seriously and mature. Now were all still kids, not everyone is going to act like an adult all the time. But still, some maturity is expected. Apparently in my video game concepts class, it doesn't apply to one dumbass.

Pretty much, I can describe this guy as 100% total stereotype redneck. He's got one big mouth to go along with it as well. He picks on everyone, tries to get the last laugh, a bigot, ignorant, and most of all acts like a 12-year-old.

HEY DIPSHIT THIS IS COLLEGE, NOT AND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PLAYGROUND.

I was talking about Half-Life with some of my classmates after class and he starts throwing trash at us. Seriously, he rolls up paper into balls and tosses it at us, giggling his fat ass off. What is his deal, more importantly, where is his brain?

Also, IT'S COWARD KILLING TIME

<lj-embed id="8" />

OMG LIFE UPDATE and Some info on Project Lambda

I was going to make a post yesterday, but somehow, depression got a hold of me. I was depressed for the last two weeks, I won't say why because now I'm a bit embarrassed about the whole thing. :B

ANYWAY BACK TO THE HAPPY. I was going to post an update on Project Lambda Halo, but I didn't make any progress since Friday (for reason, see above). In order to make it up to you guys, I'm going to tell you guys about the first map, but no pictures since it's still in the drawing board.

The first map will be based on the elevator scenario in Half-Life 2 Episode One, Lowlife.
<lj-embed id="7" />

It will go along with the gametype Zombine Defense.

For the map, I'm really going all out to make it look just like it did in the game. It's a challenge since that entire level is in the dark.

Also, check this out!

maniac_online made this for me, BECAUSE SHE IS MADE OF AWESOME SAUCE!!!!

Project Lambda Halo Update and Other Shenanigans

The first map and game type of the Project Lambda Halo map pack is 50% complete. I'm shooting to get the map 95% completed by Saturday night, so around Sunday or Monday you guys will get a preview of the map and game type in action, along with a (as in only friends and family) beta release.

Now moving on, allergies have been punching my head this entire week. But now it's starting to settle down so I'm feeling much better. Ugh, this entire week, I had a headache, sore throat, and stuffed nose. And on top of that, I've got a deadline for the school paper and a test tomorrow. Trying to study with your head thumping can prove to be quite difficult.

<lj-embed id="6" />

A+ in the Imaginary Exam

So this weekend I was studying very hard for my final in IT class. When I got there this morning, there was no one there, so I went to the computer lab. Two of my class mates are there and I sit at my usual spot. I ask a classmate in the adjacent chair if she was ready for the test.

She told me that there wasn't a test. She was here to finish up some assignments she was missing.

Damn, I wasted my whole weekend.

It's cool though, I'm making A's and B's in that class anyway.

On a brighter side, I decided to investigate Tally Hall, a band that did the Banana Man video that Icarus posted. Go hit the media tab and watch their Internet Show, it is pretty funny.

OH MAN NOW I WANT TO BUY ONE OF THEIR CD'S

I'm taking a quick break from homework to post about some stuff. Just some stuff on my mind I would like to get out.

My house, if you missed the news, is in much better shape. There is still a hole in the roof, a giant tarp covering a quarter of my house, and part of the fence demolished, but it’s been cleaned up and looks much better. The section of fence that is missing has been replaced with chicken wire so no one can get into our backyard. All my family and I have left is get bids from contractors, choose one, and give it to the insurance company, who’s been low-balling us since we contacted them over the ordeal.

I’ve been thinking about doing a screencap adventure for screencappery. I have decided to do Starcraft as my first one, so as soon as I finish here and complete some other stuff around the house, I’ll get started. NOTHIN’ LIKE AN OLD FASHIONED ZERG RUSH TO END YOUR DAY, HUH GUYS? It’s going to be epic.

Nerdcore, Video Game Shows, and Xbox Live Dicks

Yesterday was a good day. The tree that fell on our house was removed and we got our lawn back. Now we can better analyze the damage and make a better estimate of how much it's going to cost to repair our house. Good times.

I played some text based RPGs in my time. With that said, let me show you this music video.
<lj-embed id="4" />

I love Nerdcore hip hop. It's the only type of hip hop I'll listen to.

Yesterday, 1UP.com released the season premier of the 1UP Show. This is there 10th season, so I'm expecting some crazy shenanigans. Enjoy this video from my future place of employment.

<lj-embed id="5" />The 1UP Show: Episode 09/19/08

Earlier today, I was reading a blog by maniac_online. You should go read them first before you read mine.
Fagballs
Fagballs 2: I wanna be ur <s>fiend</s> friend.

Xbox Live is an amazing service. It's got many features that are really useful and the next dashboard update is going to be kick ass. The problem is that it's available to everyone. I have been a member for about a year and a half. While there have been a lot of horror stories of whiny kids and wannabe gangsters, it's not as bad as it seems. Every once in a while you run into a douche. Then he either gets muted or booted.

I once met some guy while playing Halo 3. We played some Team Slayer and then jumped into a custom game by ourselves. He was pretty nice and friendly. I added him to my friends list. After that day, he started to change. His behavior changed, he wasn't as friendly and shouted racist and sexist comments at all the players, mocked the losing team, accused the opposing team if they won the game (apparently he believed he was so 1337, he couldn't lose).

His custom games that he invited me to were even worse. They were filled with random people fished out of matchmaking, playing ridiculous game types on really retarded custom maps. There his behavior was even worse, he would boot out players for no reason whatsoever and curse at everyone that criticized his map.

I finally took him off my friends list. He sent me messages apologizing and requesting me another friend request. I decided to give him a second chance.

I created a custom game of my own that had vehicles and a race track. I invited another friend and him along to the party. He then began to fuck up the game as usual. He jumped off somewhere in the middle of the track and try to knock us off or kill us, screaming curse words and racist comments. I booted him immediately and took him off my friends list. He sent me a message apologizing and asking back into the game. He "promised" to not repeat his previous actions. Unlike last time, I did not send a reply. I did not want to play with him again.

That's one big tree and it totally knocked a hole in the roof. The good news is that everyone is safe and the hole has been covered with a tarp and the electricity, cable, phone lines, etc. are still working perfectly. We can still live in the house.

This is going to be one long and crazy month.

They Tried to Stick a Dead Body Inside of Me

I've got a character in Urban Dead.

His name is Eric Colburn. See, Eric here was once a member of the SAS. He was part of a squad sent into the city on a reconnaissance mission, possibly to investigate Necro Tech. Command located a recently abandoned building which is believed to contain evidence of NT's involvement with the outbreak. The plan was to be flown in by helicopter near the building. Then the squad was to search the building and collect any files, machines, anything to make a case against NT. Unfortunately, they learn why the building was recently abandoned, the hard way.

The area was infested with zombies and the squad was dropped right into the middle of a feeding frenzy. Before they could step inside the building swarms of the undead began their assault. The soldiers were heavily outnumbered and were loosing ammunition fast. They had no choice and had to abort the mission. They all had to make a hasty retreat back to the LZ. The soldiers began to maneuver through buildings in order to fight fewer zombies and predict their movements. They were just a city block away. All they had to do was make it through one more building.

The soldiers entered the building through the front door moving quickly yet silently. The lobby was a large area taking up three stories of the building, from it's architecture, it could have been a hotel. They decided to make a bee line towards the back and exit through a fire door. As they approach the center of the lobby they begin to reconsider their plan of action. The lobby floor was littered with zombies. Unanimously, they agreed to exit the building and go around through the alley, but as they turned around one soldier managed to knock down a vase. The zombies took notice and it wasn't long until they were surrounded. Slowly but surly, the squad fought there way to the fire exit and managed to pull through to the fire exit, making there way to the LZ. Everything seemed to be going well, well for most of them.

During all the confusion, Eric had managed to get himself separated from the rest of the squad he was cornered shooting down every zombie that charged at him. His eyes scanned for any opening. He spotted his squad making there way towards the exit. He tried to call for help, but his yells were muffled by the screams of zombies and gunfire. He watched as his squad mates quickly exited the building and slammed the door shut without him. He scanned the horizon and saw a hole through the oncoming horde, firing at anything that got in his path. He made it to the door and slammed his entire body against it forcing it open.

He quickly shuts the door behind him and props the heaviest object he can find against the door. He dashes off to the LZ and scans the horizon. He doesn't see his squad or the chopper anywhere, but in the distance he hears the choppers blades swooping through the air. He looks up and sees the chopper. As much as he tries to signal the aircraft, it's already off into the distance flying off into the horizon. Eric Colburn has been left behind.

Now a survivor he must endure the infested streets of Malton. He now helps out the local militia as well as provide aid for the citizens of the city.

I totally write more but it's late and I got work in the morning. I've already started sketching him. So maybe next time I'll write a bit more about him and get a picture in or two.

Hello!

I had a post planned for tomorrow, but my stomach decided that I shall not sleep tonight. So I might as well do something, right?

Since this is a first post on a new blog, I should at least make an introduction. My name is Spectre Sigma (not really) and I live in some state called Texas. I'm currently enrolled in a local community college. And I still live with my parents while I attend classes here in my hometown. This is not my first time to LJ. Long ago, I had a blog here under the guise of sexy_alarin . That blog ended because I wanted to try out Blogger. But in the end, I enjoy LJ's set up much better.

Hopefully I'll keep up with this.

My Grandparents are coming to visit. They are flying from Massachussets and should arrive by Wednesday night. Looking forward to that, but until then, my family and I have been cleaning the house getting ready for their arrival. Pretty much the entire last week has been nonstop cleaning. Hopefully it will all be worth it when they arrive.

Awhile ago, I joined Sabrous, an online MUD of sorts created by the ever talented funkicarus . It's pretty fun and the people on it are pretty nice. I play Raoul the Nikitak spy who really needs to stop hanging in the Garden Lounge and level up.

I had some more stuff I wanted to write, but right now I'm not feeling to good. I need to lay down for a while. But before I go, let me give some credit to the mood theme I'm using. This is the Headworm theme. I found it on funkicarus 's website, Inhuman and was created by maniac_online.
